Trials of the Seven Heroes
The spawn of the Topaz King, somehow created from his essence mingled with the essences of the Eight Worlds. Yet there are only Seven Heroes. The Master says that one of them, the one imbued with the essence of Dune, didn’t take, and so instead of eight, there are seven. This is good, as it avoids confusion with the earlier Eight Heroes. The Seven Heroes are expected to make everything better in the Eight Worlds. Or possibly in A Thousand and One Worlds, though most people in the Eight Worlds could care less about the rest. The Seven are named Bennett, Gavan, Bridgit, Theodore, Ellis, and the twins, Ridley and Darby, who are probably not twins at all. The Seven were raised in The Castle by Mother Mystery and six sisters who served under her, all of whom turned out to be conjured creations of Mother Mystery, and none of whom exist any longer. The Seven are accompanied by Donovan, various animals and conjurations, and a general air of confusion.
